Now that I pump exclusively for Cissy, L.J. has become completely fascinated by pumping. L.J. says, "Mommy pumping, Cissy milk." "Yes baby, Mommy is pumping Cissy milk." "L.J. pump?" So I give him a set of pump parts (not connected to the pump mind you) and he puts it on his belly and "pumps". Other than being a little weird, its pretty funny!
Well, a few weeks ago L.J. checked out a fire engine book from the library. We must have read it 3 times a day for the 2 weeks we had it. Needless to say, he can tell you all about fire engines. Pumper trucks have pumps and hoses, ladder trucks have ladders, there are fire boats, and the fire chief drives a special car and wears a special hat.
Do you see where this is going yet? Here it comes:
L.J.: Mommy pumping?
Me: Yes baby, Mommy's pumping
L.J.: Mommy's hoses?
Me: Yes baby, these are Mommy's hoses
L.J.: Mommy's pump?
Me: Yes, this is Mommy's pump
L.J.: Mommy's a pumper truck ... as this realization comes to fruition he then exclaims: MOMMY FIRE ENGINE!! MOMMY FIRE ENGINE!!
There you have it folks, Mommy, the fire engine!
